Janne Westerlund is a dude with one of the most impressive cv’s you can have in Finnish indie. He’s the “main dude” behind such amazing bands like currently PLAIN RIDE and in the past Chainsmoker and the legendary Sweetheart! In addition to that, he’s also the amazing guitar player for acts like the almighty CIRCLE, Pharaoh Overlord, Itäväylä and other hard rockin’ and rockin’ hard acts.

In his solo act, Janne strips off the distortion and the volume, but none of the intensity. Dark hobo-blues and folk with Janne’s trademark raspy growl, backed by acoustic guitar or banjo. Rough stuff.

Electric Retard is Teemu from FUN doing his own thing. Instead of the toned down approach of Janne, Teemu likes it loud even when he’s alone. Big Black-esque distorted drum machine beats, noisy tape loops, Teemu’s trademark razor sharp guitar… it’s all there. Some really cool songwriting as well and obviously the occational Gwen Stephani cover. Good times.
